The Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon and the Wiltshire Police Chief Constable have set up an independent Audit Committee.
It was created in line with guidance set out in the Home Office Financial Management Code of Practice for the police forces of England and Wales.
Members of the public are welcome to attend Audit Committee meetings.
The Audit Committee provides both the Commissioner and Chief Constable with independent assurance on relevant financial and governance matters. The Standing Orders of the Audit Committee can be viewed here.
To safeguard the integrity of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Office of the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Police, declarations of interest are publicly made. This ensures openess and transparency.
