Defence barrister strike action - what you need to do

From Monday 17 June 2022, defence barristers are taking strike action nationally. Unfortunately the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), courts and victim and witness services are not being advised ahead of trial dates which court hearings will be affected. 

Therefore, all those involved in ongoing court proceedings, including offenders, victims and witnesses must attend court on the date and time previously advised. If this changes, you will be updated as soon as possible. 

It is not known at this stage when the strike action will cease.
