HMICFRS Inspections
Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) independently assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of police forces.
One of the ways it does this is through the PEEL annual assessment which all forces are subjected to. Forces are assessed on their effectiveness, efficiency and legitimacy and graded as outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate.
Police and Crime Commissioners have a legal duty to respond to reports produced by HMICFRS for their force; national reports (PEEL or thematic); and joint inspection reports which are published by HMICFRS.
Listed below are details of recent HMICFRS inspections and reports and, where relevant, a response from the PCC.
