Children and Young Victims

Support is available for children and young people who have experienced a crime. If you want to report a crime to the police you can do this by calling 999 in an emergency, or 101 in a non-emergency.

You can also report a crime anonymously through Fearless which is the Crimestoppers website for children and young people.

Support is available whether you choose to report it or not and a list of local and wider support services is provided below.        

If you are a parent of a young victim of crime, you can encourage them to talk by

• Listening and not judging – making sure that they know they can talk to you
• Offering to help
• Giving them time and allowing them to make their own decisions
• Accessing support with them
