"The news today that DS Nick Bailey has left hospital is great to hear.
"I know that Nick has been in the minds of many people across the country including our own officers and staff. My thoughts and best wishes continue to be with Nick and his family in what I'm sure will continue to be a difficult journey moving forwards.
"I have been enormously impressed by the hard work and dedication shown by officers and staff, including those from other forces who continue to support us. They have worked tirelessly to ensure the public are kept safe during this unprecedented situation and as informed as possible in line with the investigation.
"The way in which Wiltshire Police and their partners have come together is admirable and a full partnership response was bought together promptly. I would like to publicly say "Thank You" for their continued work during this incident.
"The Force's response has received national recognition from the Counter Terrorism Policing Network for the outstanding way in which it has managed the initial response to this unprecedented situation.
"Wiltshire Council is now starting to look at the next steps for Salisbury and how they, alongside police and other partners can support Salisbury moving forward and recover from this major incident which has drawn the attention of the world's media."
