"I would like to congratulate all those elected to represent the people of Wiltshire and Swindon. This strong Conservative government will focus on the issues that matter in our communities, which of course includes Brexit and the impact that this will have on policing.
"I will keep working with the government and our local MPs to meet the Prime Minister's commitment to increase operational police officers by 20,000. We are already well underway in Wiltshire to recruit our additional 49 officers by 2022.
"I look forward to continued discussions with the government and our local MPs about the much needed review of police funding. This system is over 15 years old and means Wiltshire receives the fourth lowest funding from government. We need to make sure that Wiltshire gets the right amount of money to keep Wiltshire and Swindon as safe as possible."
