These school lessons explore the contribution that the police can make to aspects of the PSHE curriculum, looking to break down barriers with young people and adding to their education.
This partnership work helps children benefit from education about the law and the consequences of breaking the law; allowing them to gain a greater understanding of the role of the Police in helping keep not only them but their communities safe too.
The police input is most likely to add value to PSHE when it focuses specifically on the role of the police and the legal aspects of relevant topics such as:
We have two lessons subjects that we deliver into our Swindon and Wiltshire primary schools. One subject is aimed at 4 -5 year olds. The other subject is delivered to aged 9-10 year olds.
We also have two lesson subjects we deliver to our Swindon and Wiltshire secondary schools. One subject is aimed at Yr 8s – 9s (12 – 13 year olds) and the other subject is aimed at year 9s (13+). These can be adapted to be delivered to a slight variation in age remit, along with the school’s permission.
