Andrew, who has been a police cadet in Salisbury since the unit started in 2016, was the first deserving recipient of the new PCC Volunteer of the Year award.
Andrew has proven himself to be a committed and dedicated volunteer police cadet over the past year. He has demonstrated innovation and enthusiasm in all areas of his volunteer work.
Mr Angus Macpherson said "I always feel a great sense of pride when attending the Wiltshire Police Award Ceremony, but this event felt particularly special as I got to present my two new awards to recognise and thank those dedicated volunteers who consistently go above and beyond.
"Andrew has chosen to take on the role of police cadet. He has chosen to undertake additional qualifications and training, and even at his young age he has recognised that he want to make a difference in his community. This is something that is truly commendable.
"Andrew is an inspiration to his wider cadet team and has the potential to become an inspirational police officers if he chooses to join the Force in the future. We would be lucky to have such a bright, intelligent and committed young man in our ranks."
A cadet project Andrew particularly excelled in was the production of two inspiring police related videos designed to engage with young people, a notoriously hard to reach group.
The first video was for Operation Sceptre, a national knife crime week and the second was about county line drug dealers. Andrew showed great leadership skills when directing his team during the filming process. The videos really brought to life the devastation these crimes can bring communities.
The award ceremony was held at Casterley Barn, Pewsey, where over 100 people gather to celebrate the hard work, dedication and bravery of police staff, officers, volunteers and members of the public.
