Local residents invited to view plans for Parkfields site
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, Angus Macpherson has reviewed all police sites and associated buildings as part of his Estates Strategy 2017-21
The Strategy, informed by the operational requirements of Wiltshire Police’s Chief Constable Kier Pritchard, aims to modernise and reduce the overall size of the estate used by Wiltshire Police as well as reducing overall running costs.
Whilst some locations were scheduled for development and modernisation, others were surplus to requirements and as such, identified for disposal.
The green area to the North of the Wiltshire Police Headquarters site, between Parkfields and Quakers Road, has not been utilised since its attainment and therefore is no longer required and will be sold. The proceeds of any sale of the area will get invested back into front line staffing and associated facilities, ensuring the force remains fit for modern policing.
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner are inviting local residents to Quakers Road and Parkfields in Devizes and the surrounding areas to view the proposed development plans for the area here:

Responses received will help to shape the scheme ahead of formal planning submission to the Council.
Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson said: “We would usually hold a physical event within the community to showcase drawings and artwork of the proposed residential development plans, but due to the current Government restrictions and to maximise people’s safety, we’ve chosen to move things online.
It is still really important we give local residents the opportunity to share their views about how the development of this site might look so I encourage you to take a look and provide your feedback.
“With the help of our partnering designers, we believe the proposal is an attractive residential development, sympathetically designed with high energy efficiency, local materials sourced where possible and improved landscaping.
"The local highways have been considered and roads widened where possible to alleviate any extra traffic.
“It’s important we’re being efficient with our police estate and it is my duty to maximise the value of any excess I hold. We need to continue to invest in technology to support front line policing so any profit will be effectively reinvested into the Force.”
