Apply for Targeted Mentoring Programme Funding for Children and Young People at Risk of Serious Violence

The Wiltshire and Swindon Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) is inviting quotations from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to deliver a targeted mentoring programme for children and young people at risk of involvement in serious violence.

This pilot programme will provide intensive, trauma-informed, one-to-one mentoring support to children and young people who are completing or transitioning from existing interventions and support services. The programme aims to help participants build resilience, strengthen protective factors, and develop positive futures through sustained engagement with trusted mentors.

The mentoring service will support young people aged 24 and under across Wiltshire and Swindon who are at heightened risk of serious violence, exploitation, offending, or victimisation. Working closely with statutory, community, and voluntary sector partners, the successful provider will deliver tailored interventions designed to improve wellbeing, encourage positive behaviour change, and support engagement with education, training, employment, and community opportunities.

The programme forms part of the Wiltshire and Swindon Serious Violence Duty response and contributes to the wider goal of preventing serious violence, supporting vulnerable children and young people, and improving long-term outcomes across the county and borough.

Funding of up to £45,000 is available for delivery of the programme from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Organisations must demonstrate experience in delivering mentoring and support services for vulnerable children and young people, alongside strong safeguarding arrangements, partnership working, and outcomes monitoring capabilities.
